Matt 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
The Scripture amplifies and clarifies what it means to love your neighbor as yourself.
Serve one another (John 13:14, Gal 5:14)
Love one another (John 13:34, 35)
Be devoted to one another (Rom 12:10)
Honor one another (Rom 12:10)
Build up one another (Rom 14:19)
Accept one another (Rom 15:7)
Bear one another’s burdens (Gal 6:2)
Be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving to one another (Eph 4:32)
Speak to one another with melody in your heart (Eph 5:19)
Submit to one another (Eph 5:21)
Regard one another as more important than yourselves (Phil 2:3, 4)
Forgive one another (Col 3:13)
Giving ourselves to one another (1 Thess 2:7-12)
Edify and encourage one another (1 Thess 3:1-3)
Encourage one another (I Thess 5:11)
Pray for one another (James 5:16)
And the Apostle John stresses how important it is to love one another!
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.” 1 John 4:20
The “one another” commands above are your pathway to a closer walk with your Lord.
