Apologetics, as many Christians already know, means literally "a word back." The word was used in ancient Greece as a legal technical term denoting the defense of a party in a lawsuit. Christianity borrowed the term to "give a word back" concerning the faith. Over the years, Apologetics has been confused with Christian evidences, until today they are almost indiscriminately covered by the term "apologetics." Furthermore, in the last few decades, the term has taken on a wider significance. It now no longer means strictly defense, but offense as well. Christian apologists have taken on and, with the help of philosophy and science, shattered the notion of Macro-Evolution, and vigorously attack various other false claims. We have included a few Apologetics websites simply because we could not find space for all of them. Go to form2lines.com/other-suites, choose #6, #18, #19, or #20 for good representations of what is going on in apologetics. - Todd
