I cannot escape the question that haunts me every time I go to Church. If Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple for making it a den of thieves, who would He drive out of today’s churches? He might rid the Church of many things, but the one I feel most confident of (the Johnny-come-lately of heresies) is the advocates and practitioners of the modern church service – those who have turned the service into entertainment and cater to the me-centered, “watch-me-shimmy,” Coffee Shop crowd.
We know that “in the last days . . . etc” but we show a singular lack of interest in finding out how much of it has made it into our churches and “worship” services. We either don’t know or don’t care about where we have compromised with the World. But we could find out in a hurry what the problems are and where they lie by trying to recreate a local church on a Biblical, first century basis. - Todd
