I’m tired of hearing about churches that are “new and exciting.” I’m tired of all the Madison Avenue slogans we have applied to the church, only to find we have had to water-down the gospel and talk only about love, in order not to let folks down. I am sick to my soul of the lies we tell and the promises we break in order to remain “relevant.” Christianity is not new and exciting. It’s path is foot worn and traceable through history, its winding course watered with the blood of martyrs. “Love one another”? Yes. But do you “pick up your cross and follow,” or do you seek the easy way? And from heretics and apostates do you “turn away,” or do you invite them into your church? - Todd
