No economy carries ethics with it. Economics deals with the movement of goods and services. Ethics deals with personal behavior in regard to behavioral standards. The two are in no way linked one to another, except by the human beings who are bound to both. We hear a lot these days about the redistribution of wealth. But economics is nothing else but the redistribution of wealth, and capitalism is, hands down, the quickest, most thorough, and most flexible system of economics ever devised. So if we are unhappy with the financial status quo of our culture, let us legislate behavior, not economic systems. -Todd
